Tang Frères is the largest Asian supermarket in Paris, Paris Store being the second largest. These two supermarkets offer a wide variety of Asian foods and products, allowing members of the Asian community to preserve their food traditions. These are also places where people can use their native language, and if you walk around these supermarkets, many different Asian languages can be heard. Due to the number of languages spoken, however, the common language is French. Any Asian person in the 13th probably speaks at least one, if not several, Asian languages.

Tang Frères was founded by the brothers Bou and Bounmy Rattanavan, Chinese from Laos originating from the city of Thakhek. The first Tang Frères supermarket was opened in 1981 at 48 avenue d'Ivry. The association behind the company Tang Frères, whose name is the Council for the Integration of Communities of Chinese Origin (CICOC), sponsors events such as the Spring Festival that took place at the 13th Town Hall as part of the Lunar New Year festivities. It also organizes the opening ceremony of Lunar New Year in the 13th and its reception at the City Hall. The Council also takes care of the decorations in the Asian quarter for the New Year, in particular the lanterns and the banners.

Paris Store was opened in the summer of 1977 by Huy Trinh, and it was the first Asian supermarket in Paris. Trinh also co-founded the Association of Residents in France of Indochinese Origin (ARFOI) in 1982, which aims to help refugees integrate into French society and also organizes the big Lunar New Year parade every year.

Tang Frères and Paris Store have several sites in Paris and the Paris region; Paris Store even having other locations in France.
